７・１６「さようなら原発１０万人集会」への呼びかけ
原発はいらない！この声で、代々木公園を埋め尽くそう
　福島第一原発で発生した、世界最大級の過酷事故によって、日本の豊かな自然――
田んぼや畑、森、林、川、海、そして雲も空も放射能によって汚染されました。原発
周辺で生活していた多くのひとびとは、家も仕事も失い故郷を追われ、散り散りに
なっていつ帰れるかわからない状態です。

　福島のみならず、さまざまな地域のひとびと、とりわけ子どもたちやちいさな生物
に、これからどのような悪影響がでるのかの予測さえつきません。

　メルトダウン（炉心溶融）とメルトスルー、そして原子炉建屋の水素爆発という、
あってはならない最悪事態はいまだ収束されず、圧力容器から溶け出た核燃料の行方
さえ把握できない状況です。

　さらに迫り来る大地震が、原発を制御不能の原爆に転化する恐怖を現実のものにし
ようとしています。それにもかかわらず政府は、電力会社や財界の要求に応じて、や
みくもに再稼動を認めようとしています。

　日本に住むひとびとの八割以上が、「原発は嫌だ」と考えています。世界のひとた
ちも不安を感じています。しかしその思いを目に見える形で表現しなければ、原発
を護持・存続させようとする暴力に勝つことはできません。私たちはいまこそ、日本
の指導者たちにはっきりと、「原発はいらない」という抗議の声を突きつけましょう。

　電気はいまでも足りています。さらに節電ができます。いのちと健康を犠牲にする
経済などありえません。人間のための経済なのです。利権まみれの原発はもうたくさん
です。反省なき非倫理、無責任、無方針、決断なき政治にたいして、もう一度力強く、
原発いやだ、の声を集めましょう。

要請事項

１、停止した原子力発電所は運転再開せず、廃炉にする。建設中の原発と建設計画
　　は中止する。

２、もっとも危険なプルトニウムを利用する、高速増殖炉「もんじゅ」と再処理工
　　場の運転を断念し、すみやかに廃棄する。

３、省エネ、持続可能な自然エネルギーを中心に据えた、エネルギー政策に早急に転
　　換する。

Call for the “100 thousand People’s Rally to say Goodbye to Nuclear Power Plants”, 16th July

Let us occupy the Yoyogi Park with our call for “No nukes!”

As a result of the worst severe accident in the world’s history that occurred in the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, Japan’s rich natural environment, with its beautiful rice paddies and fields, forests and woods, rivers and seas and the clouds and skies, has been contaminated by radiation. Many people who lived nearby the plant have been deprived of their jobs and homes, forced to leave their communities and scattered away, not even knowing when they can go back home.

We are now in a situation where we cannot even predict what kind of effects will appear on the people in the future, especially children and small animals, not only in Fukushima but also in many other areas in Japan.

The disastrous situation which should have never been allowed to happen- reactor meltdown and meltthrough, and hydrogen explosion of the reactor building- has still not been settled, and we do not even know where the nuclear fuel that leaked from the pressure vessel has gone to.

Moreover, the horror of nuclear power plants turning into uncontrollable nuclear bombs is becoming more and more realistic, with predictions of more massive earthquakes hitting Japan. Even so, the Japanese government is on its way to recklessly allow nuclear power plants to operate again, following demands from the electric power industry and the economic community.

More than 80% of the people in Japan do not want nuclear power plants. People around the world are worried as well. However, without expressing our wills in a visible manner, we will not be able to overcome the violent forces that strive to sustain and maintain nuclear power plants. It is time for us to clearly speak out “No Nukes!” to the leaders of Japan.

Electricity is already provided enough. Further, we can also make efforts to save electricity. There is no sense in an economy that sacrifices people’s life and health. Economy should exist for the people. We have had enough of nuclear power plants, which only serve the rights and interests of a certain group. Let us stand up against the politics lacking self-reflection, ethics, responsibility, directions or decisions, and once again strongly voice our “No” to nukes!

We request the government to:

1. Decommission all the suspended nuclear power plants without restarting operation, and cancel all constructions and plans of new plants.

2. Abolish the high speed reactor “Monju” and nuclear reprocessing plants, which use plutonium, the most dangerous radioactive material.

3. Immediately shift towards an energy policy centered on energy conservation and use of sustainable natural energy sources.

Message of support:

The time has come where citizens present a vision for an alternative future. There is no hope in the politics when its actors are doing nothing but seek for compromise and middle grounds among themselves. Electricity is not worth risking our lives for. Electricity can be produced everywhere in a small scale and consumed within the area.
Let each of us show that it is possible to create an alternative future.
